Mike’s passing will be most deeply felt by his beloved wife, Anne, children Amy & Rory, and grandchildren Freya and Ramsay. He has been sorely missed in the practice since his retirement less than two years ago, after 35 years of dedicated service and leadership, and we are devastated that Mike and his family have been so cruelly robbed of the happy retirement he so deserved. - [Palpitations Monitor](https://clarkstonmedical.co.uk/palpitations-monitor/): The practice has invested in the latest 6-Lead AliveCor ECG devices. This allows us to assess various aspects of your heart’s health, quickly and on-the-spot in the surgery. These devices are approved for the assessment of palpitations, atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm problems. You will only need to go to hospital for a formal paper ECG if that detail or a cardiology opinion is required.

You may receive a telephone call to gain more information, be given advice or even arrange an alternative such as a District Nurse or an ambulance. This enables us to efficiently visit housebound patients before afternoon surgeries commence; late requests clash with afternoon surgeries, and will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.

This was previously 3 weeks before the date of travel. After discussion with clinical staff it was felt that this period didn’t provide sufficient time to cover all immunisations and/or period of treatment. Therefore the notice period will now change to 6 weeks with immediate effect. Please note that not all travel immunisations are available on the NHS.
