Morning All,

Updated the website this morning with a red banner (pictured above), mirroring that on the NHS Inform website. It includes links to the excellent and up-to-date COVID-19 website and the helpline number.
The second picture (at the bottom of this post) is a bit more information from the World Health Organisation regarding looking after your children’s welfare during these stressful times.

The main change this week is that, with us being in Phase 2 ( https://youtu.be/FpQxkRepQLc ), the virus is now considered to be “in the community”, and as such what is important is if you have symptoms or not. In a way, this is a simpler, more black & white scenario than before, when people were worried about travel from other areas and known contacts – now, the advice is to self isolate for 7 days if you are sympomatic and to get on with life as usual e.g. going to work if you are not. Whilst doing so, you should still be taking sensible precautions such as regular handwashing and avoiding large social gatherings; here is the link again to the excellent Washington Post article explaining the benefit of social isolation:

So, please don’t call us just to find out more about it, or if you are well and are looking for advice on avoiding it, or if you are minorly ill (i.e. same as normal flu) – ALL the information you require is to be found at

https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19

Please, follow the advice above so we can make sure we devote our time to those who are severely ill with coronavirus and to all the other patients who are still having heart attacks, strokes, depression, cancer…

Best wishes and keep well,

All of us at Clarkston Medical
